That was the year that Dean and Ellen Wolfe met Jim and Nancy Skochdopole. The Wolfes were considering a move to Dallas from Boston, where Dean would have the potential to become the vice rector of Saint Michael and All Angels. The Skochdopoles had gone to school in Boston and were asked by the rector of Saint Michael to help get the Wolfes excited about a move down South. Those who know Nancy won’t be surprised to hear that she pulled out all the stops. The Wolfes moved to Dallas, bringing with them their five-year-old son William, who was soon introduced to the Skochdopole’s younger daughter, a then four-year-old Ellie.

Will and Ellie have several fond memories of childhood together: trick-or-treating on Halloween, ringing in the new millennium at Will’s house, even a surreptitious kiss on the cheek sometime around 2001. Little did they know that when Will moved to Kansas in 2003, their story was only just beginning.

Through a long and complicated series of events that we won’t bore you with, Will and Ellie reconnected while in college, Will at Sewanee and Ellie at Rhodes. They ended up both moving to Washington, D.C. after graduation in 2015, where they began to date in earnest. Seven years later, Will proposed at the Dallas Arboretum, Ellie’s former client and favorite place to volunteer. She said, through ugly tears, “of course.”

The couple has tackled a cross country move, made numerous incredible friends, graduated from law school (that may have been more Will than Ellie), started a business (that may have been more Ellie than Will) and been side-by-side through it all. They can’t wait to celebrate their marriage with you and start the next exciting phase of their relationship.
